Hong Kong Technology of Renewable Energy Events (HKTREE) 2015

In 2015, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (S.T.E.A.M.) classes were held in Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Tun Dr Ismail (1). Jimmy Leong and his team from Brain Bytes led these class-sessions throughout. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Damansara Utama (SMKDU) joined from September 2015. Brain Bytes also invited engineer-ing partners from UK and Australia to guide students in preparations for the competitions. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Consumer Electronics Chapter is strongly in support of this too.
Students learnt about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. They worked on project-based learning to create technologies around us such as hand dryer, traffic lights, ventilation fan and many more electronics. They spent time preparing presentations for the MSC APICTA Malaysia competition and 2 groups were selected as finalists to do presentations. About 2 months prior to competition, students learnt more about gears and how to build and optimize their solar cars using recycled items such as corrugated cardboard.
