How Americans spent for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2018?

The information below shows data from Black Friday (23rd November 2018) to Cyber Monday (26th November 2018).  More than 165 million Americans shopped either in stores or online.

A survey was conducted by the National Retail Federation America, which asked 3,058 consumers about Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Monday shopping plans, November 24-25 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.8 percentage points

$149 was the most amount spent on holiday purchases for themselves by teens aged 18-24. 

$313 was the average spending for gifts and other holiday items.

$413 was the biggest average amount spent were by older millennial and Gen X (35-44 years old).

Top Shopping Destinations include Department stores (42%),  Online Retailers (38%), Apparel Stores (30%), Grocery Stores (30%) and Discount Stores (29%).

The top purchased items were apparel (57%), toys (34%), books and video games (29%), electronics (26%), and gift cards (20%).

On average, consumers have more than half (56 percent) of their holiday shopping left to do.
