Japan S.T.E.A.M. Competition 2016
Japan S.T.E.A.M. Competition 2016 took place on 30 October 2016 in Osaka, Japan. Congratulations to
- Road Trip in Malaysia from SMKDU for winning Gold award
- Si Tanggang Puppet Show from SMKDU for winning Gold award
- Smart Cutter from SKTTDI(1) for winning Silver award
There were 8 representatives from Malaysia who were joining Japan S.T.E.A.M. Competition 2016.
- Road Trip in Malaysia
Team Member: Alina, Amirun and Barata
The team explained some of the famous places and tourist attraction spots in Malaysia. They used Arduino together with LEDs for lighting and piezo transducer for background music to make their presentation on Road Trip in Malaysia more interesting.
- Si Tanggang Puppet Show
Team Member: Iqmil, Zul Arif, Sofiya and Safiyan
A story of Si Tanggang was performed in a form puppet show. Arduino was integrated using different electronics components for example, LEDs were used for lighting and piezo transducer was used for its music background.
- Smart Cutter
Team Member: Sastro
Smart Cutter detects tall grass and cuts it. It turns automatically when obstacles are detected using two switches. The prototype was built using Fischertechnik set.
The 3 Japan teams won 3 silver awards.
All visitors also had the chance to view DIY robots of Japanese makers upclose.
